Sapa Tours

Sapa lies in a beautiful valley near the Chinese border, and is the norths main attraction for travellers to Vietnam. The whole area has spectacular scenery and is home to a mix of many ethnic hill tribe cultures. There is an excellent market place with local produce and handicrafts made by the local mountain people who venture down to come and trade in the town.

Trekking in Vietnam is becoming very popular and the Sapa valley is no exception. Our trekking tours vary from the short moderate walks which can be done quite easily on day trips from town, to the long and more vigorous hikes taking several days and staying overnight in the villages along the way.

Surrounding Sapa are the Hoang Lien Mountains, known by the French as the Tonkinese Alps. These mountains include Mt Fansipan, which at 3143 metres is Vietnams highest mountain.
The peak of Mt Fansipan is generally accessible throughout the year, but don't underestimate its difficulty, you should have a good level of health and fitness.

Sapa Tour Programs

Sapa Tour - 2 days / 3 nights

Option 1: Stay in Hotel *** - (Private Tour)

Depart Hanoi: 9.30pm on the night train, soft sleeper to Lao Cai.

Day 1: Arriving in Lao Cai at 7am we take a bus over the mountains to Sapa. After checking in to your hotel and having some breakfast you are free to have a look around the town and the local ethnic markets.

After lunch in the hotel we take a short walk down into the valley to visit the Black H’mong Hamlet of Cat Cat. Here you can chat with the locals and watch the young women weave their traditional designs on their looms, or you can just sit and relax and bathe in the rainforest waterfall.

Dinner and overnight stay in three star hotel***

Day 2: This day you have the choice of going to the village of Lao Chai to visit the Tay and Day tribes people for lunch or have a free day in the Sapa town and maybe take the short walk up to the lookout over the Sapa Valley, have lunch in your hotel and do some final shopping.

If Day 2 is a:

• Saturday you have the option of going to the Can Cau market.
  
• Sunday you have the option of going to the Bac Ha market.
  
• Tuesday you have the option of going to the Coc Ly market.

After having dinner in your hotel you get the 6pm bus to Lao Cai railway station for the evening train soft sleeper back to Hanoi arriving at 5.40am.

Option 2: Stay in Hill Tribe Village - (Private Tour)

Day 1: Arriving in Lao Cai at 7am we take a bus over the mountains to Sapa were we stop for breakfast.

Full day trekking across the Sapa valley passing through Lao Chai village were we stop to visit the Tay and Day tribes people and have lunch. After lunch we continue on to the quaint little village of Ta Van were we settle in for the evening and enjoy their friendly hospitality.

Dinner and overnight stay in Ta Van.

Day 2: After breakfast we trek to Giang Ta Cha, village of the Red Dao tribe, here we see some amazing scenery and a beautiful waterfall.
We return back to Sapa town by noon for lunch and do some last minute shopping before returning to Hanoi.

6pm bus back to Lao Cai railway station for evening train soft sleeper back to Hanoi arriving at 5.40am.

Continuing on, our trek takes us over the rolling hills and through a small rainforest. We pass the Muong Hoa River and waterfall to arrive at Ban Ho village, the home of the Tay tribe. On arrival we check into our wooden stilt house and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and friendly people.

Day 3: After breakfast a short 45 minute trek to the main road were transport takes us back to Sapa. We will then have the remaining time to explore the town, have some lunch and do some final shopping before returning to Hanoi.

6pm bus back to Lao Cai railway station for evening train soft sleeper back to Hanoi arriving at 5.40am.

Day 4: After breakfast a short 45 minute trek to the main road were transport takes us back to Sapa. We will then have the remaining time to explore the town, have some lunch and do some final shopping before returning to Hanoi.

Sapa Tour - 4 days / 5 nights - (Mt Fansipan Climb - Private Tour)

Depart Hanoi: 9.30pm on the night train, soft sleeper to Lao Cai.

Day 1: Arriving in Lao Cai at 7am we take a bus over the mountains to Sapa were we have breakfast and plan our assent.
We begin our journey by trekking down into the valley towards the Black H'mong village of Sin Chai. Stopping for lunch on the way we trek for 8 hours through the rain forest following the animal trail to an elevation of approx 2000m.
On arrival at the campsite our porters have erected the tents and are preparing our evening meal. We relax and settle in for the night.

Day 2: After a 5 hour exhilarating and exciting climb we reach the peak, we put our hands on the summit marker and enjoy the spectacular views towards Laos and China.
Our porters set up camp for us and we relax and enjoy the scenery while watching the sun set.

Day 3: 8 hours downhill trek to Sapa town stopping for lunch on the way.
On arrival we check in to our hotel, freshen up and celebrate.

Day 4: Free time to explore the Sapa town area, do some shopping and taste some of the local cuisine.

6pm bus to Lao Cai railway station for the evening train soft sleeper back to Hanoi arriving at 5.40am.
